Yes. Fortis couriers transport pathology samples, blood specimens, biopsies and similar biological materials. Items must be correctly packaged by the sender in appropriate specimen containers. For Category B biological substances (UN3373), items should be triple-packaged to IATA P650 standards — the driver does not package your samples.
Is there temperature-controlled transport for pharmaceuticals?
Standard Fortis medical courier uses an ambient-temperature van. For pharmaceuticals requiring cold-chain (2–8°C) or frozen transport, contact us before booking to discuss options. We can often source operators with temperature-monitored vehicles or who carry validated cool boxes for shorter runs.
How do I book a medical courier urgently?
Use the standard booking form — enter your collection and delivery postcode, select the appropriate van size (usually a small van for specimen runs), and note 'medical / urgent specimen' in the cargo description. A driver is typically dispatched within minutes of booking.
