1. Who we are
Fortis Logistics is a trading name of Fortis Tech Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 07298301). Our registered office is 18 Callywith Gate, Launceston Road, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL31 2RQ.
2. What Fortis Logistics is
Fortis Logistics is a marketplace that introduces shippers (people who need something moved) to independent logistics operators (drivers, couriers, hauliers, removals firms). The contract for each move is between the shipper and the operator. Fortis is not a carrier, freight forwarder, or haulier.
3. Your account
You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information. You're responsible for anything done through your account. Tell us if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices shown are in pounds sterling, inclusive of VAT and any applicable charges. We take payment in full at the point of booking and hold it in a designated escrow account until you confirm delivery. If you don't confirm within 7 days of the operator's proof-of-delivery, the payment is released automatically.
5. Fortis Cover
Fortis Cover is the name we give to the bundle of protections included with every booking — escrow, goods-in-transit insurance (up to £25,000 per consignment unless topped up), replacement-cover arrangements, and impartial mediation. Cover is governed by the full policy document, available on request.
6. Cancellation
Cancellations more than 48 hours before the booked collection time are refunded in full. Between 48 hours and 24 hours, 50% is refunded. Inside 24 hours, the operator retains their full quoted fee. If the operator cancels, you are refunded in full and Fortis Cover will help find a replacement.
7. Operator obligations
Operators listed on Fortis hold valid public liability insurance (PLI) and, where required, a valid Operator's Licence and ADR certification. We verify these documents at onboarding and at renewal. Operators are independent — they are not employees or agents of Fortis.
8. Prohibited goods
You may not ship illegal items, counterfeit goods, currency, firearms, live animals without specific arrangement, or hazardous goods outside of an ADR-certified booking. The full list is in the shipper onboarding checklist.
9. Liability
Our liability in connection with any booking is limited to the amount covered by Fortis Cover on that booking. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Disputes
If something goes wrong, email support@fortislogistics.co.uk with "Cover claim" in the subject. We aim to resolve claims within 5 working days. English law applies and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email. The updated terms apply to bookings made after the change is published.
