How many pallets can Fortis deliver same-day?
A single Luton van can carry two to three standard Euro pallets (1.2 m × 0.8 m) or up to two UK standard pallets (1.2 m × 1.0 m) in one trip. For larger multi-pallet requirements, we can coordinate multiple vans departing at the same time.
Do I need a loading dock?
No. All Fortis pallet deliveries use a tail-lift Luton van — a hydraulic platform that lowers the pallet from van floor height (~1.1 m) to ground level. Kerbside delivery to any address, no loading dock or forklift required.
What is the maximum pallet height?
The Luton van can accommodate pallets up to approximately 1.6–1.8 m high (pallet base + load) depending on the operator. If your loaded pallet exceeds 1.6 m, please note this when booking so we can confirm fit with the driver.
Can you deliver a pallet to a residential address?
Yes. The tail-lift Luton can deliver to homes, driveways and kerbside at residential addresses. If access is restricted (very narrow road, low bridge, height barrier) please note this in the booking and the driver will advise.
Is there temperature-controlled pallet delivery?
Standard Fortis pallet courier uses an ambient-temperature van. For temperature-sensitive pallet deliveries (pharmaceuticals, food), contact us to discuss options — we can sometimes source chilled or temperature-monitored vehicles through our operator network.
What happens if the pallet is damaged in transit?
Every Fortis booking includes Fortis Cover — goods-in-transit insurance up to £25,000 at no extra cost. Your payment is also held in escrow until you confirm delivery and condition. If damage occurs, our team handles the claim process.
